FOUR DAYS OLD - FINDING HIS VOICE

We went to see Sprite today (1/03/13) after not seeing him for a few days, and wow he is looking so much stronger. His coat is looking brighter and smoother, he has put more weight on and is much more inquisitive and interested in us. Whisper is much more chilled, eating hay and allowing us to pat Spee without looking stressed by it.

When we saw him a few days ago, I could have sworn he let out a quiet whicker. This morning, when he saw us, the same thing happened again. I told Laura and my parents and, right on cue, Sprite let out an even louder one. It was still quiet, but there was no mistaking it. It's a small thing, but it made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

He's also started to respond when we call him, as well as coming over to us of his own accord. Laura found an itchy spot on his neck, which he took great pleasure in making her scratch until he had almost his full weight on her arm! He's also started stretching his nose out for kisses! I'm well aware that this is turning into a soppy post, but I can't help it, I've completely fallen in love with him!

A tractor came past half way through our visit, and honestly I don't think he could have cared less. He actually walked away from Whisper as it came past and didn't even seem to notice.

I'm afraid there are no photos today, the stable is quite dark and I'm also just trying to just enjoy his company, however one thing to note is that his legs have significantly lightened. They were black when he was born!

He's coming home to Curborough on Saturday with Whisper, so we'll hopefully be able to get better pictures then. I'll keep you updated in the meantime!
